First Steering Committee Meeting

Date: 19th of July 2012

Venue: Teagasc, Ashtown, Co.Dublin.

Our first steering meeting had a great turn out attended by industry experts, academics and members of the IEA. The meeting gave an opportunity to the steering meeting to ask the IEA any queries they had on the project and also allowed them to voice any opinions they had on any objectives or targets of the project.

Atendees: Joe Collum (Glanbia), Joe Mulhall (Kells Wholemeal), Cathal O'Connor (Consultant), Carmel Farrell (Teagasc), Dolores O'Riordan (UCD), Zandra Montgomery (Carotn Brothers), Helen King (Bord Bia), John Whelan (CEO-IEA), Jacqueline Cumiskey (IEA) & Aoife Bohan (IEA)

Jacqueline Cumiskey, Food and Drink Manager of the IEA presented firstly on an overview of the Food Chains for Competitive Advantage project.

Secondly Helen King of Bord Bia, our funding partner on the FCCA project, presented on "Innovation", the subject surrounding the project.

Finally Jacqueline presented again on the market research approach for the FCCA project.

The meeting raised many action points to be addressed by the next Steering Meeting.
