Workshop 1 - Innovation & NPD

At the first Food Chain for Competitive Advantage (FCCA) workshop, the IEA Chief Executive John Whelan stressed the need for continued investment by food companies large and small in new product development (NPD) stating;

"New products are the best way of getting your buyers off the price point fixation that has been driving down margins here, in the UK and across Europe"

The FCCA programme offers unrivalled insight and expertise in new product development, branding, product launch,  access to funding and the R&D tax credits.

Companies who have signed up for this IEA programme, funded by European Regional Development and with the support of  Bord Bia stated at the workshop

“I found it very good. Ronan has the ins and outs of new product launches.” – Roberto Macias, Clonarn Clover.

“The workshop opens your mind to the various approaches to NPD and identifies opportunities available to Irish Food companies at home and abroad. You are provided with a clear step by step process to develop an NPD programme that you can adapt to your own company with the help of expert mentors also available from the FCCA programme – which is an excellent stepping stone to any company starting out on their NPD venture.” – Niamh Craughan, Hogan’s Farm.
