Noreen Lanigan from Bord Bia's Office in Paris is confirmed to speak at the IEA Quarterly Council meeting in Teagasc Ashtown, Dublin 15 on Wednesday May 11th.

She will present the results of Bord Bia's recent 'Continental Europe Logistics Optimization Study'. The scope of this study was 4 markets: France, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands.

Background to Study: Many Irish food and drink companies have recently been seeking to expand their business into Euro zone markets. But evidence, from Bord Bia, suggests that many of them are struggling to find the most suitable and cost competitive logistical solution to supply these markets.

Objective 1: Produce a Continental European Logistics Service Providers (LSP) Guide for Irish food and drinks companies targeting the French, Dutch, German and Spanish markets, identifying the most efficient options.

Objective 2: Produce a directory of sales and marketing distributors in the selected markets, focusing primarily on those negotiating and delivering to the multiple retailers, including contact details for the central and regional distribution depots of the major multiples. Where the Irish exporter uses this approach, the directory will provide contact details for recommended central warehousing facilities in market and local hauliers/consolidators that deliver direct to the multiple retailers’ depots and the independent stores.
