The IEA's Channel Clusters Programme participants Helen Finnegan of Knockdrinna Farmhouse Cheese, Don Walshe of Dromoland Game and Janet Drew of Janet's Country Fayre have been prominently featured in national media articles in recent weeks.

In describing her as a “fabulous Cheese lady” the Irish Farmer’s Journal’s Maria Moynihan focuses on Helen’s “yes we can” attitude to getting things done despite the economic downturn, and her determination to collaborate with like-minded foodies on the Taste of Kilkenny Food Trail (including Mag Kirwan of Goatsbridge, who is also a programme participant).

Meanwhile, The Irish Times’ Killian Doyle, a self-confessed lapsed vegetarian, spent a day with Don Walshe at the Dromoland Estate, which culminated in a wonderful 8-course game dinner at Dromoland Castle Hotel.

Finally, Janet Drew of Janets Country Fayre has won an award for her Beetroot Blush product at the annual Irish Food Writers' Guild Awards. In addition, IEA Council member, John Flahavan of E Flahavan and Sons picked up a special environment award for the company's organic oats product.
