Carlow Food Entrepreneur wins Great Taste gold star PDF Print E-mail

A carlow based food entrepreneur who only started up her business last year, has won a Great Taste Awards 2012 gold star.

Julie Moore of The Store Cupboard, Rathwood won the prestigious award for her raspberry across Ireland and Britain. Julie only opened her shop, The Store Cupboard, last November and when not working in the shop she can be found cooking her produce in small batches, as small as 12 pots at a time, in her home.

Over 8,800 products were entered for the Great Taste Awards this year from 2500 companies. The products were blind tasted by a panel of over 350 judges that included chefs, writers, critics, restaurateurs and fine food retailers.

Julie started out her career in law but always a foodie at heart, moved careers after some time in food production in Australia and following an intensive course in Darina Allen's Ballymaloe Cookery School.

Congratulations Julie!
