Former INM CFO appointed at the Irish Dairy Board PDF Print E-mail

Former chief financial officer of Independent News & Media (INM) Donal Buggy has been appointed group finance director at the Irish Dairy Board, replacing Cathal Fitzgerald who decided to step down at year end.

A chartered accountant by profession, Buggy joined INM as group financial controller in 1996 and in 2002 he was appointed to the group chief financial officer position, joining the group’s board and executive committee.  


He also served as a non-executive director of APN News & Media from 2003-2010 and a number of other group companies in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

Commenting on the appointment Kevin Lane, vhief executive Officer, IDB, said: “We are very pleased to have secured a group finance director of Donal Buggy’s skill and experience of international markets.

“The IDB is currently undertaking an ambitious transformation programme in advance of the abolition of milk quotas in 2015.  The lifting of quotas is expected to result in a 50pc increase in milk volumes by 2020 and our objective is to leverage our global marketing reach to replicate the success of our world class Irish dairy brands such as Kerrygold."
