Our aim is to continue to grow our market share and we are looking forward to 2013 with great confidence.”

With offices in Clonakilty and a production facility in Cork, the company employs 43 people and has seen continued turnover growth during 2012 building on years of continued growth.

“We are very satisfied with the performance of the company during 2012. The overall economic conditions continue to present challenges for every business in Ireland, however we see great potential in the export market and have developed this side of our business in recent years with the Clonakilty product range now being exported into Spain, Holland, United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong as well as the UK. In 2013 we will continue to look at export opportunities particularly within mainland Europe,” Twomey said.

Clonakilty Blackpudding Co currently has about 25pc of the black and white pudding market share in Ireland and the Clonakilty range is available in all major retailers along with independent stores, butcher stores and delicatessens.
